I've been playing with LED lights and bulbs. My wife said she couldn't really see my signals on the V-Strom, yet her signals on the V were really bright. So I changed my signals to LED's, needed a relay to adjust the Voltage for the bulbs, now she see's me signaling.
I had 2 x 55Watt auxiliary lights, tried replacing the bulbs with whatever i could find, the tri-angular lighting was not what I wanted. Found some othe LED lights and they really improved the visual. Granted these lights won't rplace the intensity for night riding ( distant brightness ) but my triangular effect has been achieved.
Here's a closer picture of my temporary testing bracket. The silver light is 3 watts, and has a wide effect, these were $20 each. The little black oval light has 6 led's and also a 3 wat rating ( I think ). I like the black one better, it's lighting effect is more forward than wide angled. I also bought some amber lights, a possible rear addition maybe.
I'll be making a bracket for the wifes V and mounting some extra lights on her bike, during the day she say I can be seen, and the bright lights do not blind her when she is leading.
I also mounted some led strips on my JCWhitnet cheap luggage............ Extra signals and brake lights, it's just great at night !!!!
Here's a short crappy video I took of my rear lights.
BIG PS : Sorry it's pic's of my Vstrom,
I'm working on things for the V
. This will be posted in due time.
