Popopopop

Was going down hill coming up to a stop light. Down shifted and feathered out the clutch to engine brake. Heard the revs go up as the engine started slowing me down and then as they dropped I heard "brrropopopopop".

New bike with 1,300 miles and no mods..... Should I be concerned?

Its right in that area. I think it might be closer to 1,500. I'll check next time I ride.

You could try rotating your main throttle sensor counterclockwise by about 0.5 mm. It is set a bit low at the factory, leading to a lean air/fuel ratio at idle, and at off throttle and low throttle opening.
