Installation of crank chain in Kawa. GPZ750

Hello folks
I am new here, and I hope there are some friendly people who can help me with a little question.

I have a Kawasaki GPZ 750 from '85 (UK model).

Cylinder and cylinder head has been dismantled and it is now reassembled.
Now I have to install the Crank chain and thats where I have trouble.
I can not quite see in the manual where the pistons must stand when the cam chain have to be installed. The chain timing is very good described.
During installation of the pistons and cylinder, the manual describes that all stamps must be in the middle, but subsequently you must manually turn the crank to see if the pistons run as they should.
I presume that they must stand in the middle, where (I belive) the valves are closed and it is thus easier to mount crank chain.

Can someone please confirm this? Perhaps a detailed guide would be really nice.

By the way, I hope you understand what I mean ...

Thank you in advance.

Piston #1 (left) should be at TDC (highest position), with the 'T' on the timing rotor lined up with timing mark. Check again after turning crankshaft in the same direction as when it's running, with the cam chain stretched taut in front where it's pulling on the cams.
