General Questions

Hi guys/gals,

I know these seem a little silly but I have a few questions:

1. Is a high pitch "chirpy" sound normal from the stock exhaust?

2. How much RPM should I get to before I change gears? And when I go on the freeway for long periods of time will sitting at 4,500RPM doing 100-110kmh hurt my engine?

3. Lastly, I've done roughly 21,000kms (13,048 miles) is that a lot?

Thanks heaps guys!

General Questions

1) chirping/whistling is normal from stock exhaust

2) no is normal. Change gear where you are comfortable. It is harder to control bike at higher RPM's if you don't get the gear chance and RPM's to match - this is due to the naturally high engine braking. At lower RPM's it it easier to control.
Sitting on freeway at 5k rpm is not hurting your engine. It is just boring. Bikes like to have RPM's rise and fall. But it should be fine.

3) 20k is just broken in.
