Help, pls... Fairing removal

I need to put coolant in the reservoir, and I've been trying to figure out how to remove the fairing. Can anyone who's done this please give some advice? I've read and followed the manual, but it's quite stubborn, won't budge. I don't want to apply too much elbow grease as I might break something, plastic is pretty expensive as you all know. Is there a certain "push" or "pull" after all the bolts have been taken out? Any pictorial or vid tutorial on this matter? Thanks in advance.

there is a single rubber grommet on the bottom of both side fairings as far as I remember. Mine is 08, not sure if the new generation has the rubber grommets. I did break both of mine off when I first removed my fairings, and no harm was done.

I figured it out!! A good day is when you can't see through your visor or windshield b/c of the bug splatter!!!!

It comes off easy once you remove all the screws that hold it on.

2 screws, then pull the back of it straight off, then the front kind of slides into a tab, so once the back is pulled away, pull the whole panel toward the back of the bike and it should come off.

Once you get the black plastic off, remove the two screws on the hard plastic, one up top where it meets the dash plastics, and one down below in the middle. Once these are off, grab the plastic from the bottom lip and pull out, as well as the corner back by the rear of the tank. The whole thing should pop free of the grommets, then slide it straight forward towards the front of the bike and it should be free. Good luck getting it back on, though.

If you're just wanting to add coolant, you might be able to do it with the plastics on and just use a funnel with a narrow spout.
