CE605 vs CF55402 R/R

From the BURNT STATOR thread, I'm sold to the idea of using a series R/R.
Question is, some other bike forums swears by the Cycle Electrics. Are they both on par ?
Looks wise, the Compufire seems more suited to the V and smaller too albeit lower output (40A) compared to the CE605 which is putting out 50A.
Comments please ?

Well, it does sell for a few bucks less... You could always try it out, and see if it also needs to be switched off to prevent battery draining when parked by measuring battery curent draw with ignition off.

About the power drain thing, what if we put some hi power op-amps to switch off the circuit when the engine is off ? It's a wonder why these two companies dont think about it. Also has it been confirmed that the series reg/rec do drain the battery ?

The Wizard can probably talk about op-amps, whatever they are... It has been confirmed and measured. Readings are somewhere in the forum.

Okay then, maybe just wire a relay to the start switch inhibitor (RUN Switch) then to simplify things.

I'm still in the midst of comparing between the two brands.
How many of the forumers here are running the series R/R ? From my search I'm guessing less tha 10 huh ?

Wow that's a low number and I wonder why as every bike forums has burnt stator issues. Moreover these R/R are transferable so it'll never go to waste when people switch bikes.

I got a reply from DEBRIX, they'll ship to me but it's on back order until the mid of this month @ $179 (178.95 to be exact). Shipping is another story for 50 bucks. It's a GO for me.

@ Invader : Nope, not in the states. I didn't try Cheap Cycle as I always go for those suppliers that return my mails/calls, especially when price difference is meagre. Since Debrix answered first, he got the business. Compufire hasn't replied even though mails were sent out at the same time to DEBRIX.

I guess I got my Compufire from DEBRIX too, at $25.85 USPS shipping to Canada.
