My 2011 came with a DID chain and it was shot at 7500 miles. I went with an RK this time, the GXW line. The OEM chain was kinked and o-rings were squishing out the side plates, and I was lubing every 400 miles and checking tension every 600 (kept it right around 35mm, so loose end of the spec). It seemed softer than normal when I cut it off. I only mention it because like Mursili, I wondered if Kawi wasn't doing a good job of quality control or ended up with a Chinese knock-off. That being said, I have a VX2 right now on my DR650 and it seems to be doing fine.
Twowheels - do you have a jpg of your avatar? I saw that a long time ago on Advrider and could never find it again. Don't want to use it for an avatar but wouldn't mind having a copy just for kicks.
