Finally got her back!

Well finally picked my 09 V up from the dealer after two visits. They say the fuel pump was running but not to capacity so they replaced it. Runs like a top now! Now I get that whinning noise from the fuel pump which I never had before but atleast I know its working.

Good to hear your V is home.

That whinning sound just tell us the V's awake. Actually it's a good thing so at least we normal folks can figure out what/if anything is wrong.

Cheers

My fuel pump must be working but I don't notice a whining sound.

There should be a section in the maintenance book with recordings called "Good sounds and bad sounds".

LOL! You are right Atgatt. At first I heard all kinds of unfamiliar noises when I bought my V but after some research have found out they are all normal. ie buzzing, whistling. There should be a section for "you might hear it, but might not, but it's okay if you do".

I hear a high pitched noise some times from my when it is just sitting there not running. I think it is a check valve releasing pressure from the gas tank, but that's just my guess. I want to describe the sound but it's much harder to do with just text. It would be nice to record it but it just happens randomly.
