Modifying side stand

I installed Speedy's lowering kit today, and everything went just great. When cutting the sidestand shorter, I used a wheel type tubing cutter, and it worked very well and made a nice neat cut without removing the stand. It takes a little while, so be patient and tighten it just a little at a time. It will leave a small burr that needs to be dressed down with a file before the foot is installed.

I've cut mine down 3 times now, just keep making it a little shorter each time. Don't want to everdo it. Yeah, it cuts pretty easy. I've been using an air powered die grinder.

Speedy's measurement of 1-1/2" below the pin is pretty optimum. I mentioned the tubing cutter as an easy way for someone without power tools to do the mod.

Make sure to use blue loctite on the two screws that hold the bottom plate on. I also did the same with the pinch bolts.
