Question Newbie Stand Question

My last bike had a center stand that I used for maintenance. I purchased a set of T-rex stands (front and rear) and the 10mm spools for my new V. Couple of questions:

1) Do I just leave the rear spools on? What, if anything, does that provide for me?

2) How does the front stand attach? There doesn't seem to be a mounting hole.

I've looked throught the pictures that I could find but it wasn't all that clear. Thanks in advance.

did you buy the front fork lift???? or the one that lifts from the bottom of the fork... there is a plug in the form above the tire that will allow to lift with the form lift

I purchased the T-Rex front & rear package and spools. I haven't gotten them yet so I don't know exactly what everything is.

There is no reason to take the spools off unless you just want to. As for lifting the front here is a picture from the DIY tire removal thread. You just place the front stand under the front forks and lift...after you have the rear on the stand. http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...8&d=1238892537

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

The spools offer some protection for the axle nut if the bike goes for a slide down the road. Apart from that, it's bling

Love the T-Rex stands. Here's a couple more pics for you. I was confused by the pics to until I thought, "ah, hell lets just see what happens!"

Nvoelsch, thanks for the pictures, they are easier to see how it all works. BTW, I noticed you are in Eugene Oregon, I'm in Sherwood. I'm a Beaver so I don't go to Eugene... LOL, but if you are in the Portland area, let me know.

Congrats on that CBI championship. You should be proud.

I on the other hand, am pretty fond of our football civil war this year.

Ooops, thread jack, sorry! Back to the Versys!

I keep my spools on; with the rear hugger and luggage, I hardly remember they are there (but thankful that they are when I get the stand out - one less thing to have to remember!).

There seems to be more and more of us in Oregon... we really should pick a central valley location and meet up some afternoon!
