Need Help with Bolt Size/Thread Type

Does anyone know the size and thread type of the bolt that would fit in the empty bolt hole (it is threaded) on the little tab on the right side of the bike main frame? The tab is located just above the engine. Some folks have mounted an aftermarket horn on the tab. That is where I would like to mount mine. I have read posts that mention mounting it there but nothing about the size/thread type of the mounting bolt they used. I just do not have a bunch of metric size bolts on hand to try and determine the size. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It looks to be an M4. I removed a few screws and threaded them into the hole you asked about to see if I could answer your question. It's the same screw size as those that secure the fuel tank plastic side pieces, along with some other plastic trim pieces. Give it a try and see if you agree. Hope this helps

Thanks Arion!

That was a smart idea - thank you for taking the time and effort to help me with this issue. I'll post back with what I find fits for that tab.

Invader's right - M6 x 1.00. (I always 'Loctite' mine, so every now and then I pull out my taps and dies and "chase" the threads to clean them.)

Well, one lives and learns. My 4mm allen key removed the 6M screw that fit in the threaded opening asked about. Or perhaps my Allen keys are mislabeled. Ah, education - wonderful stuff!!

No, they're NOT mislabeled. The allen-wrench is a 4mm one, while the bolt is a 6mm shank. (Like a 1/4" SAE bolt - requires a 7/16 socket or wrench....)

TWO different measurements.
