monolock for highway trips...myth or reality?

Hello,

I recently purchased the Givi E450 monoLOCK and I have ordered the M5M plate and the corresponding rack...I was wondering if someone has used the Givi monolock at highway speed...I know the manufacturer do not recommend it but I felt that they would rather be safe this way and not saying that it could be possible...

so any thoughts? the plate and rack are on their ways from Italy so until then I can't try it....

Thanks!

I've used it for commutting on the highway for the past three years. Yes it adds a little bit of drag, but for the ability to keep my computer and clothes dry and space for a helmet, priceless.

I hope you do realize that the monoLOCK bags are only good for 3kg. The monoKEY are good for 10kg.

I rode my Ninja 650 with V35 side bags and MonoKEY trunk with no issues what so ever.

I don't know how often Siyeh visits anymore, but I believe he had a Givi E470 Monolock on his V (see this thread for pics), and he's logged a few trip reports. If anyone would be able to answer this, he would.

Might be worth dropping him a PM.

thanks Dave!

I have dropped him a message hopefully he still checks his account...

I got the whole topcase with m5m plate and topcase rack for only 150 usd...I need this to work for long trips that have some highway and with a load slightly heavier than the limit set by GIVI
