windscreen block off

I have been reading the windscreen posts and I saw one example where someone blocked off the open lower section with another piece of another screen. i have a 2008 with a GIVI 405 ST screen and I get a lot of buffeting I was wondering if closing off the open portion at the bottom of the scree with my original screen( I never expect to use it)
would help with the buffeting or is it better to leave that air gap at the bottom to assist the air movement? OR should I buy a different wind screen.

I blocked of the lower part so I reduce the variable in managing the airflow. I have a GIVI and MRA spoiler. No buffeting.

I just used ABS plastic left over from truck Mudguard.

It was OK, but now I have a 2015 Versys with Givi AirFlow... and it's WAY better.
I'm 6ft, I was having the airflow hitting my helmet above my visor.

Weljoe did something similar with his Gen 1 I recall, and said it worked very well. I've got a "split screen" Vario and use it with a Madstat bracket, and it works very well.
