@onewizard thanks. Managed to hoist the bike up last night with some effort and got the wheel back on. Talk about a PITA getting those threads aligned with the wheel on though.

Well fml. Went for my first ride with the new tires yesterday only to discover they mounted the front tire backwards. And the triple tree lift isnít in yet, so I get to sketchily hoist the bike again.

i know this isn't the answer, but you do realize that once you remove the wheel, you can swap the rotors, provided there is no wear. You should have a allen wrench socket and torque wrench. And follow the service manual. Just to save a trip . The rotors have provisions for mounting that ring, just done on one side. As in the photo above, the one with the wood under the bike.
