Aux light mounting/hanging strategies?

I'm about a month into my Versys 650 ownership, and am finding the stock headlight pretty inadequate - I feel like I'm going too fast for it to be useful above 60 kph on anything other than well lit roads. So I'm looking at auxiliary lighting options along these lines:

https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.c...ound_p_10.html

My question for people who have been down this road is, how are you mounting lights like this, on bikes that don't have crash bars that cover the fairing, like the Touratech ones? I'm planning on investing in the SW Motech ones, which from pics I've seen, probably won't be suitable for hanging lights off of.

I'm looking forward to seeing solutions that you have found for this problem.

[edit] This is for a 2017 Versys, so from 2015 on.

Another thing you can easily do is upgrade the OEM bulbs to Philips Xtreme Vision bulbs. Still only draws 55W but produces much whiter light. I'm using them on my Versys, and used them on prior bikes, too. They're the next best thing to HID.

Here are the DENALI DM lights on my '15 V650LT, on a bracket I made to "hang them off my SW-Motech crash bars".

I just 'bent-up' a piece of steel, then welded it to the lower spacer, aligned it as necessary, followed by torquing that mounting bolt. Works PDG!

I do not have crash bars installed so I used the lower attach bolt for the radiator fairing. I used a longer bolt and spacer to attach the light U bracket. They are just inexpensive 10 watt work lights off Amazon. They are more for see me lights than for lighting up the highway. I found this mounting on a very old post here. I am using it on a 2013 v650.

No!, its attached to the crash bar via a DIY light bracket.

Yeah, that's a great idea, and something I'm going to do regardless of whether or not I add aux lights.

That's really cool - unfortunately, I have no ability to fabricate where I live, and no welding skills whatsoever. But good to know that lights can be hung off the SW Motech bars.

That looks like a great solution!

These Denalis were on my 2015 when I bought it so I can't shed any light on where the brackets were sourced, but they sure provide plenty of illumination - and make me visible too!

Here are my lights, mounted on my Hepco and Becker Crash bars. These have been on for 10 months now, and have not budged a single inch...

'Brackets are Simpson concrete form angles and a couple of u-bolts, spray painted black. Not the most elegant, but the they get the job done and there has been zero need to re-aim the lights since I installed them.
