What is this drain plug looking thing?

On the left side of the bike, what is this drain plug looking item? Is this round area the STATOR or the CLUTCH ?

I just had a look at my '15 below the 'stator-cover' - I can see what you're asking about, but after looking thru my SERVICE MANUAL - I have NO idea, but I would NOT touch them, and w/ all the servicing I've done, I haven't....

That is a Lower Crankcase Housing Bolt LEAVE IT ALONE. If you look on the other side you will most likely see another one. I have a V1LT that has the same bolts. They do look like drain plugs. They are NOT.
Again leave them alone.

That is the stator cover... It's one of the hottest operating temperature surfaces of your engine if you haven't switched from stock shunt type to a series type regulator/rectifier.
