Wiring up a LSC-100A?

I have now received two Superbrightled.com brake light strobing devices (LSC-100A). The first one didn't seem to work and the second dosen't work either. So I am thinking that the problem must be me or the device does not work on a 2008 650.
The instructions are pretty simple. You sever the wire going to the brake lights, hook their positive red wire to the hot side of the severed wire. Then you run their black wire to a ground. Then with their other red wire marked "to LED", you connect to LED side of the severed wire. Should work!
No it doesn't. When I crank the engine and step on the brake pedal, all I get is a steady lit brake light, just as if it were stock. No flashing of any kind. The same occurs with the engine off but ignition on.
Now I look at the wiring diagram. It says going to the brake light I should have 1. Red 2. Black /R 3. Black /yellow.
I look at my actual choices going to the brake light. 1.Red/With Brown bands 2. Blue /red 3.Black/yellow.
After using a probe I find that only the Red/Brown wire actuates the brake light, so that is the wire I severed.
So my assumptions are, either the diagram is wrong or the previous owner added an aftermarket brake light assembly. Either assumption, severing the Red/Brown wire should be the proper choice, because it operates the brake lights (the assembly has multiple red and white LEDs, not just one .)

So, what am I doing wrong? Or does this device just not work on a Gen 1 bike?

Any thoughts?
TIA
Randy

I checked my old post https://www.kawasakiversys.com/forum...034-post4.html Blue with red tracer, 6 inches from tail light , make sure you have a good ground ( for that small current I advise taping a existing ground rather than using the metal frame.) as that is required for the pulse to work.

Thanks OneWizard. I checked the device with a power supply and a meter and it appears to be working. I will try the red/blue tomorrow.

I just did this last week. It's the BLUE wire! Cut that, attach your RED wires from the modulator to the BLUE, corresponding to the to/from, then ground the black to the frame.

Also, if your brake light bulbs are NOT LED's this unit won't work (or vis-a-vis).

Thanks Guys, it is the red/blue wire. Everything is working fine. The help is appreciated.
