Oil from swing arm?

I was lubing the chain on my 2008 V today and noticed some water dripping from a weep hole at the rear of the swing arm. I used a small pick to clean out the debris from the hole. A couple of ounces of fluid came out. Then I touched the fluid and noticed that it was mostly oil. Is there any reason that a relatively large quantity of oil should be coming from the swing arm?

Thanks
Randy

If it really is some type of oil, maybe some chain lube overspray when applied by you or previous owner? Any oily water collected in the swingarm resulted from the weep hole being clogged.

Claim mineral rights and set up a derrick.

I wish I had light sweet crude oozing out at my house. Could use the income to supplement my retirement.

2015 V-650 of course it's green...it's a Kazawalski.

Maybe the previous owner sprayed a corrosion inhibitor inside the swing arm, because they were well aware of the drain holes becoming plugged.

2011 V650 in Black, well accessorized.

Thanks guys, I'm now thinking its probably chain lube.
But I will sell the mineral rights to the highest bidder B-)
