Bike started overheating

2014 650 12,000+ miles. It started to overheat in Seattle traffic. Once rolling everything was fine. Got home and after allowing the bike to cool I discovered there as debris in-between the radiator fan and shroud preventing the fan from coming on. I attempt to ride everyday and in the northwest this means riding in the rain a lot. I figure enough crap eventually built up and because I rarely ride in heavy prolonged traffic (Seattle was a special trip) I never noticed this condition. I recently purchased and installed a fender extends and will be making my own radiator guar/grill from some extruded decorative aluminum sheeting. Don't know if anyone else has experienced this.

Suggest you let the bike warm up and make sure the fan comes on to make sure the fan motor was not damaged.
