how to remove fork tube

How do you remove the fork tube from the bottom leg casting

My Kawi parts book shows this as one piece, but I see aftermarket fork legs like this:

Is that not the female part of the fork, the upper part?

Edit: I don't think you can get the bottom casting off the male part of the tube, it's likely welded on. Which is a good thing I suppose, you wouldn't want that coming loose at speed.

the lower leg black casting, off the chromed tube

Since there is an aftermarket tube it must come off.

Here's a parts fiche: http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/model...980-front-fork

It shows a bolt underneath the black cast part. Maybe that unscrews from the lower fork tube?

The bolt on the bottom secures the cartridge inside the lower leg. The fische on the amazon link appears to show a cartridge for something (don't think it is versys hardware).

As for the axel clamp being removed from the bottom leg. It could be pressed in, in which case it is not meant to be removed. Most are threaded into the clamp and held there with very strong locktite although it could have a pin as well.

It looks pressed in, and that makes sense from a manufacturing point of view but I am hoping that someone knows for sure.

My thoughts are a press fit and/or a high strength adhesive. There are no indications of a mechanical fastener holding the brake caliper carrier to the fork tube.

If you found a set of damaged fork tubes they could be cut up for a possible answer.
