Happy Trail pannier install help

I bought a set of HP panniers for my 09 versys last year and the racks have been in the garage for a year sitting around taking up space. So I decided to install them finally and the directions or rather lack of do not say how to attach the bracket for the taillights

Not sure if this will help or not. Racks were on when I bought it but here is a pic of the lights.

Assuming you mean turn signal lamps...
The extensions supplied attach where the light used to, the light then mounts to the extension bracket. You'll want to disconnect the lead wires under the seat to route them thru the new brackets.

Any other particulars?

I used their brackets but reversed them and bent them to suit, mounted the turn signal lamps on them. I forget why, maybe it was that I didn't like how they had designed them originally.

Here's how mine are setup:

I made the top rack. Built it to attach to the HT racks.

Ah yes, now I remember - that's the way HT intended for the lights. They go on the extension brackets a lot easier this way.

But they wouldn't work that way on mine with the license plate in the way. So that's why I did the brackets the other way.

Was also the main reason I went with the HT racks in the first place, they are the only ones that don't bolt to the rear fender - I don't have one! As it turns out they are the strongest as well. Just love mine.

Can one of you guys take a pic underneath the fender please where the turn signal bolts to the fender. I think I am missing some washers and a nut for the 8x20 that attaches the bracket to the plastic piece on the bike

Thanks

Yes, they short all the parts packs with those. Just pick some up at your local hardware store.

One would have thought they would run out and have to make up more parts packs but obviously not.

Lame...

What fun would it be if they actually had decent instructions or included all the hardware?

This is the orientation of the light bracket and yes, I didn't get all the bolts either.
