Exclamation I'm an idiot

Need some help from someone out there. In my haste to do some maintenance/cleaning the other day, which included cleaning some of the gunk from around the front sprocket, I moved the gas tank drain hose (the one with the little clear plastic bottle in the end of it) to get it out of my way temporarily. I put everything back together completely forgetting about the hose and went for a day long ride with the thing dangling down in front of the engine. When I pulled into the garage at the end of the day it suddenly occurred to me what I had done, but now, for the life of me, I can't remember how the hose was routed. I'm assuming it follows the outside of the front sprocket cover like the other drain hose on that side but it seems like its too short to end up in the same place. Can someone help me out and maybe post some pictures so I can see where this thing goes. Thanks a pantload!!

Just tuck it back behind your front sprocket cover. Here's a couple of pictures. I removed the shift side plastic cover and pulled it out a little so you could see it. Just make sure it isn't lying on top of your chain.

Thanks but...

Thanks guys for the quick replies.. but I think I might be talking about a different hose. The one in question is a black tube that has a small clear plastic bottle on the end of it and then another short length of tubing. I thought this was the gas overflow or vent tube, but I could be mistaken.

Here is the one that you are talking about. It runs down behind the shift lever and has a clip to hold it in place. Just be sure there are no "kinks" in the hose.

not a big issue...just route the pipe and make sure they are not pinched.
