Messed up, please help. Valve cover washers.

I just realized that I lost 2 of the 4 valve cover washers, the ones that go under the shoulder bolts holding the valve cover on.

The biggest problem is where to buy them on time?
I was going to leave on a 4 day trip this Thursday...

Any suggestions how to solve my self-inflicted problem?

I don't recall if they were specially shaped washers or not but why could you not just go to the hardware store and pick up some appropriately sized metric washers?

The washers are rubber-clad metal, to keep the oil from getting past the bolts.

I am trying to find rubber, best would be silicone rubber, that can stand up to the high temperature.

Ronayers.com and cheapcycleparts.com are closed on Saturday, bikebandit.com said 7 to 10 business days.

I bought high temp Silicone RTV, it will have to do until I get the OEM parts.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

They are still here in the garage, but if you ever saw my garage you would realize that it can be considered lost. What a mess here.

I carried the valve cover all over the place, not realizing that these washers were lying on top. I must have held the cover over every pile of mess and cluttered area there is, looking for a good place to put it down.
When I grabbed the cover, the remaining 2 washers fell off, and that's when I realized there were now 2 missing.

The online oem sources won't be able to get it to you since they have to get it from kawi first and then send it to you. The fastest source would be your dealer, when they open.

This might be a good time to clean and organize your garage. Maybe you'll stumble upon them before the dealer opens?

I would go to a dealer. They should be common to all of the Kawa 650s so I bet they have them. The problem with the places that sell parts cheap is that they rarely have much inventory and have to order your parts and receive them before they ship them to you. If you have time to wait those places are great!

Steve

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

For the right price, I would ride to Pennsylvania on my Versys and let you take it apart for the pieces. I doubt that you will want to pursue this option, since my price would probably be substantially higher than the price of a new Versys.

Still the offer is open if needed.
