Regulator part numbers ??

F. Me being anxious to fix my V before a move in a couple weeks (when I lose the garage), is causing me to overlook things. I called up the local Kawi dealer, well, semi-local for me at the moment. Have had great service and all from them. After looking at online part catalogs like here (http://www.powersportswarehouse.com/...ar=0&fveh=9334), i have found that the regulator (#21066-1127) has been replaced with a "newer" (?) part (#21066-0705). Back to the Kawi dealer, they had an unbelievable price for a brick and mortar store, $99 bucks. I asked the part number and it's the -1127, coundn't remember if that was the "newer" one or not, and said that I thought there was a newer one that I saw online ending in -0705. They said that they have the most up-to-date parts catalog, and I have every reason to trust them.

Now, looking at the linky above, I realized it may not be the "newer" part. Any thoughts? Why exactly would a parts catalog read that one part replaces the other part (in this case -0705 replacing -1127)? Just renumbering? Is there cause for concern?

And while I am at it with the barrage of questions, any Washingtonian's know of a shop that'll rewind a stator?

I'd go for the newer 21066-0705. It may be different and better than the original 21066-1127.
Avoid those RM Stator units.

I was leary of the RM Stators, and it might be too late for me to cancel the order, they were sending it in tonight.

INVADER.
Not sure if I have mislead our friend here and would be grateful if you can highlight the problems on RM stator units. Might come useful for others in the future.

He didn't mislead me, I ran across them a day or so ago and couldn't find any solid review, good or bad, on them. Their website advertises better than OEM at $40 dollars less, seems a little too good to be true. Not to mention they are a Canuck (I like Canada!) company, and unless otherwise stated I am assuming they make/refurbished the parts. Japanese electronics are pretty solid, so I pick them first.

If you ordered the RM Stator R/R (made in China), do try to cancel it.

Sorry, should have clarified; I ordered the 21066-1127 from the Bellevue Kawi. If it blows again in another 30K I'll get the -0705.
