Mailing circuit for maintenance kit
Since everyone is so polite here, I was thinking:
Would folks be interested in a circulated system? A small box with common maintenance tools that could be mailed around to members on the board. You pay the outgoing shipping, and that's it.
Maybe re-stock the box with CLEAN shop rags or stickers you don't like. No aerosols, firecrackers, blah blah blah, etc. Refill the stock of anything you used. ADD to, but never KEEP.
The one holding the box posts on the thread, so he/she can receive a PM on where to send it to the next member.
Cable lube tool (i hate mine, I'll donate it)
Chain breaking tool
Chain riveting tool
Spare end/master links and rivets (in case you drop yours or swallow it...)
14mm hex nut for front wheel removal (I'll donate mine)
Big Ol' Syringe for lubing cables (i like it betterthan the tool)
Brake bleeding kit (regular bleeding is part of good maintenance)
Spare banjo bolts/washers
Spare allen-head bolts for replacing the cheap master cylinder phillips screws
Loctite for the mirrors, etc
A couple of wrenches and allen keys, maybe (i have extras, but the shipping would be heavier)
Installation thingamajig for wheel stripe stickers
I've got 2 big old sheets of black vinyl sticker (thick stuff) that I used on the heel plates. Covers up scratches from dirty boots and looks nice.
Costs $15, and I don't need it anymore.
Got a bunch of black foam I used for quieting the fairing buzz.
A roll of tinting for darkening the windscreen.
Or anything else. I dunno, just an idea.
Some folks don't (or can't) buy the specialty tools. Think of it as good karma.
I've also got a spare headlight bulb I can toss in. Maybe bundle it inside a toilet paper tube.
A length of aluminum bar for raising the front fender, already cut to the correct lengths.
(have a few ofthese, actually -lemme know if you need a kit)
Extra muffler bearings.
Spare turn signal batteries.
An un-depletable supply of awesome-ness. Lol
