Question Plug under Seat - '16 Versys 650

Hello all,

There is a 4 conductor plug under the seat of my 2016 Versys 650.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what this is for, what the wire colors represent.

I'm in the process of adding aux lights to the rear but was wondering what this plug was for.

Garage
It's a diagnostic port, I believe. Kawasaki dealers have a tool they can plug into there. Similar to an ODBII port on a automobile.

That's where the flux capacitor plugs in. Contact Marty McFly and/or Dr. Emmett Brown for specifics. I believe there was a Mr. Fusion add-on available from Kawasaki as an add-on for the 2016 model.

Oh, wait. Never mind. that's the "Self Diagnosis System Connector" and Kawi dealers use it to hook up to their diagnostic system checker. The tool flashes codes to reveal any problems. Sorta like an ODBII diag port, Kawi style.

"Self Diagnosis System Connector" Is the right answer.

I used it to plug in a gear position indicator on my 2012 Versys.

be careful with that. I mashed my thumb with a wrench while I was mounting it and found myself in next Wednesday. I still haven't found that missing week...
