OEM Muffler Compatibility

Hi all!

I recently purchased a 2012 650 V and it came with a side mount Yosh exhaust. I'm not a fan of it at all. It's shiny, ugly and loud. Plus I ride a lot of gravel/ state park roads and I know I'm gonna dump the bike and that pipe will contact the swing arm.

I've been hunting everywhere for a stock replacement but I can only find '07-'09 mufflers. Will they fit a '12? Is the exhaust tip shape the only change?

I tried searching but every thread said go Leo SBK. I kinda wanna go quiet as to not disturb the others enjoying the parks as I do.

Thanks!!

Stock muffler has a built-in catalytic converter near its inlet, and is much heavier... It might sound like a chirpy squirrel, but it will be much quieter.

They're similar to the point that I bought a Gen 2 muffler (someone took it off as soon as he got his bike home...) which I keep in AZ in case my Gen 1 ever needs it.

The tip is the only difference, tho' that Gen 2 tip can "depart" the muffler, so I had my tip 'tacked' on w/ a TiG welder.
