kickstand confusion

Going to lower my new 2015 650 LT when I get it. Will use the Speedy lowering link. Looked at post where people talk about using a 650 Ninja kickstand. When I looked at the parts fiche the part numbers for a 2015 show to be the same kickstand. So what year kickstand is the correct year for lowering a 2015?

Why don't you just order the kickstand insert when you order the lowering kit and just cut your kickstand...https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/11...24893554023010

Probably the best option and looks easy enough to install.

I got a 2008 ninja 650 kickstand and it fit just fine on my 2011. Cost me $20 shipped off ebay. It took me 10 minutes to install. I'd rather keep the OEM intact in case I part my bike out and sell the lowering link.

Speaking from a half season of riding with lowering kit, the current OEM kickstand will function just fine with lowering kit and bike will still be very stable with it.

Mine came from the 650R but either one will fit. Just go ahead and order it. You shouldn't have a problem. It was too upright for my taste with the OEM kickstand.

06 -08 ex650 it fit great. $20 on ebay with the spring. You can check p/n on any online parts supply for what years/models use the same one. I wanted to keep my original one if I wanted to return the bike normal.

Same here.

What year is the Versys you put the 06-08 ex650 kick stand on?

After considering the EX650 kick stand for my 2016 650 LT, I think I'm just going to go with the shortening routine as shown HERE. If I wanted to revert back to the stock 650LT kickstand, it only costs $52 at Partzilla.com.

I looked at the 2008 and 2016 EX650 kick stands on parts fiches and there appear to be problems with fitting them to a Versys. The first and most significant is that the Versys stand has a sleeve through which the bolt attaches to the frame. The hole at the top of the stand, which has to accommodate the sleeve, looks bigger on the '15/'16 Versys than that on either the 2008 or 2016 EX650 stand.

Even if there were no hole problem and I decided to try fitting an EX650 stand to my Versys, which one would I use?... the 2008 and 2015 have different part #'s. The 2008 EX650 is 34024-0024, where the 2015 is 34024-0103.

I decided to just order the kickstand bolt kit along with the lowering link from Motowerks. When I get to the point where I sell the bike I will just order a used 2015-2017 oem kickstand for $20 bucks on fleabay.

What is the kickstand bolt kit? Didn't see anything like that on the motowerks site.

Well, I purchased the 34024-0103 on eBay for $10.

I'll see if it works on my 2017.

Anyone else try a 34024-0103 from a 650 Ninja on a 2016 or 2017 Versys 650?

Thanks.
