Break-in service check list?
Now that I've reached about 600 miles on my '15 Versys 1000, last night was time for the break-in oil change and service.
Does anyone have a checklist they use for break-in services?
At this point I prefer to do all my own service if at all possible. Too many times I've had to fix what "professional" dealership mechanics have done to my vehicles. I have the factory shop manual with the service intervals and procedures but I wonder what may be specific items/issues to watch for.
I've hit all the basic items but want to make sure I check any items specific to this bike. Perhaps those with a bit more experience with these things can point me to items or issues specific to this bike.
I've had many bikes over the last few decades but this is the most modern, high-tech bike I've owned and maintained.
I've done the Oil & filter, chain clean & lube, pull plastics and check for leaks and loose fasteners, fluid level checks, etc.
Found a bit of residue around the water pump weep hole, not an unusual thing, cleaned and will watch.
Coolant reservoir is towards low line, will top off and watch.
Other than that, I didn't find anything worthy of note.
Has anyone else had specific issues that might be worth a specific look-see?
