lowering front to go with lowered rear

So for those of you who lowered your front as recommended by motowerks, did you go the whole 22 mm max they mention in the instructions or less? Anybody like to volunteer their experience with the front end lowering?

Yes, about 2 years ago I installed the rear lowering link on my '08V, and slid the front fork tubes up as far as possible (per instructions). Its was very easy to do. I also removed all the spring preload on the front springs to make the front even lower. It works pretty good. It handles well, and it looks better being lower overall and somewhat level. Compared to the stock set up, the front is still slightly higher than the rear, but not by much.

I will have 35,000 miles by the end of the riding season, and my V will be due for changing the fork fluid. If I get time this winter, I may try installing new progressive type springs in the forks, maybe a little shorter than stock, so I can get the front a little lower, and replace the fork oil with slightly heavier oil for increased damping.

On my 09 V-650 i lowered the back and front per Speedy's instructions. But after awhile i moved the front to stock position and liked it better that way

I lowered mine earlier this summer. It was quick and easy to do. I used my calipers to ensure both forks moved equally. Probably don't need to say it, but only move one side at a time.

Unfortunately I don't have enough experience to speak of how the ride is affected. I just know that I can flat foot with both feet now.

Thanks for that fasted die but no good ending here. My dad had a stroke and is expected to pass away tonight or tomorrow. He's 91 and has had a great life so I'm sure he's going with no regrets other than outliving my two brothers by over 50 years. He's on morphine drip so no pain, just an easy slip away.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Not easy to loose them no matter the age.

Wishing you and your family all the best. I lost my father when he was a week shy of his 85 birthday. Man it was tough he was my best friend.

I lowered my V-1000 today left the front end in the stock position like i did when i had my 09 650. I like it that way and it helped with the seat forward slope.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. My Dad passed in April, and we are still sifting through his stuff. A lot of stuff you don't want to get rid of now, you will get rid of later. Sometimes It's hard to let go. My prayers are with you and your family.
