Parts match up questions

So what is the general consensus on parts from other Kawasaki bikes being "plug and play" items on the Versys? I have a 2013 Versys 650 and am looking to make it a naked bike with riding position similar to the z800 (renthal style handlebars, not clip ons as they're too low for how tall I am). I've heard that the gas tank from the 650r matches up without having to do any mods, but then again I heard the fuel pump is wrong. I've also heard that the upper triple tree from the z1000 matches up perfectly, but haven't had anyone confirm yet. I guess my whole point from this is: Can everyone list the parts from other Kawasakis that they know match up directly or with minor modifications?

Sounds like you're building a one of a kind bike? Do a search for others who have done similar things and ask there. Plus you need to research things for yourself. Look up the specs of the bikes you're looking to get parts from. example parts: triple tree measurements, bearing sizes, fork diameters, etc. You can't really go by hearsay. Good luck.

One of a kind is probably a good description. My inspiration is the Wrenchmonkees Versys, but they did a TON of custom fabrication, which I don't have direct access or even much experience doing. Do you know of any good resources for specs? So far I have been scouring this site heavily as well as several other forums, but it seems to me most people get their measurements directly off of bikes.
