Fork seals?

The seals on my 2007 650 Versys have started to weep and need to be replaced. Does it use the same seals as the EX 650 Ninja? My supplier does not list an All Balls seal set for the Versys.

Before you replace the seals, try this trick. It's worked for me a couple of times over the years, including a few months ago when one of the fork seals on my Versys started weeping. You may not need new seals and a few minutes could save you a lot of time and the cost of new seals.
jesbin likes this.

Whitehorse Press is going out of business so it's time for a final sale. Signed copies of my book are now $10 with free shipping in the U.S. while they last.

Thanks guys. I tried the film trick with that seal mate thingy when the forks started to leak down in Mexico and it worked all the way down to Peru. However, in between shipping it back to Canada and getting it back on the road this spring, they have started to leak again. Since we are planning to leave for Alaska in June, it seems a good idea to go with new seals, just to be safe. Thanks again for the info and advice.

All Balls 56-136 is the fork and dust seal kit for the Versys, 2 of each.

As a matter of fact I'm going to replace the fork seals an d bushings on my '14 with 60,000kms and I'm using All Balls kits 56-136 and 38-6090. Despite what others might say about OEM fork seals being the very best option, I've yet to have an All Balls set of seals fail me.

Well; here's hoping your Balls don't fail you this time either.

Forty years away from 2 wheel fun. Sure is great to be back smelling the roses!!!

On my recent 'adventure' w/ fork seals on my '08 in AZ - the aftermarket seals leaked TOO. The mechanic suggested the OEM Kawi ones, which worked...! (This was around 60K miles.)
