2015!650LT First Service

Just looking for some info. Am considering buying a new 2015 650LT and the sales guy says the first service needs to be done by the dealer. I am 56 YO and have always done my own service. Is there something special that needs to be done that the dealer would have to do? He is trying to sell me the "service package" to prepay service and said is a barging because the dealer has to do the first service. I never buy the service package. Just interested in what is done at the first service that is so critical the dealer has to do it. Thanks...

The dealer is not telling you the truth.I did the first service on my 2015 lt myself. I just keep all my receipts.

I have a 2015 and first service was only oil change and chain adjustment, and they did a piss poor job. That's when I decided that I would do all future service myself. This Forum has been invaluable. Thanks to all.

Did my first service also... No problems with the dealer. They just told me to keep all the receipts.

The sales guy is lying to you. You might consider buying somewhere else...

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info, I stalked this thread and a few others on changing the oil on the V.

Just did my first service on the V at 500miles (couldn't wait for 6 and have alot of ridding planned this weekend). It was a piece of cake! **** the man aka dealerships...
