Horn Trouble!!!

So out of the blue my horn just quit working. I haven't tried anything yet just wondering if anyone has had this problem. My first guess is a blown fuse but I haven't looked yet. Van pulled out in front of me and i had to just give the finger instead of blow the horn... Any help would be appreciated.

Was your finger as loud as the horn?

I would start with putting a multimeter on the wires just before the horn, see if the horn itself is broken or the circuit of power to it is interrupted.
Then check your fuses (don't know what else is on the same fuse, but that will have stopped working too if it is the fuse).
If that's not it, check the horn button circuit for continuity.

Blowing the stock horn is almost useless. toss that piece of crap and get something that make them drop thier cell phones. My stebel horn has saved my butt about 6 times now.

So now that I've tried to answer your question, I'll join the others in their advice:

+1 on the Stebel, or Wolo Bad Boy, or Fiam Highway Blaster, or any other aftermarket horn that doesn't mimic the Road Runner "meep meep".

When a situation gets so far that you do actually need your horn, it is nice to have one that they will hear and clearly says

A while back I needed my horn and it didn't work. I checked the fuse and it was blown. Put a new one in and the horn worked but sounded like crap. I removed the horn, fiddled with the rubber thingy, put it back on and it has worked good since......go figure.

One of my scariest rides ever was in Indonesia when I discovered, 150kms from my destination, that my horn didn't work. I know no one will understand unless they have ridden there. My left hand gloves there had neat little round holes in the thumb from the button. (NSR 150RR)

I know what you mean as I have stayed and worked in Indonesia for 2 years. You get headache in hearing all the noise for the horns, but its a must to have loud horns there.
