This point not actually going to help you but my radiator guard on my 2011 Ninja ruined my radiator but rubbing on it and a replace original from japan was going to cost $1000.00 NZ but got a clone version from ebay out of china for $160.00 including freight so certainly worth shopping around.

That's what I originally thought... So all the Ebay ER-6 rads are different, beside being from China.

I bought a used fan way back in 09, when there were numerous postings of fan failure . I got it off eBay for $12, cost about the same to ship it. I tested it when it arrived, it does have a different mount, and it works perfectly-----and as usual, my original fan is still a hummin.

the 2009 and up ER6F uses the same size radiator as the Versys, and swaps directly to the Versys frame mount, EXCEPT as mentioned, some of those radiators have 3 fan mount tabs instead of 4. why a manufacturer does these things is a mystery.

i've run both Versys and ER6F(N) OEM radiators on the Versys framed bikes, whatever i could find cheap. i've also swapped fans between models.

if considering the purchase of an aftermarket radiator, besides verifying that it fits, closely examine the photos...they are not all created equal.
Thanks for the thorough answer!!
So ill just order the 09 er6n radiator and hope for the best!!!

depends on were you ride, im on my 3rd fan(ninja fan) (PO said he had replaced it and it dead when i got it, but that was due to mountain pumas getting into the motor and jamming it up, i was able to clean it out and get it working again but i already replaced it so i tossed the other in a box as a just in case

Unfortunately the one thing that will kill the fan is jamming, and not with any instruments , I mean coming to a dead stop with a rock--and not a rock band

The stator is permanent magnet with a inverter inside, so the magnet wire usually gets fried, as the electronics is trying to start-------------talk about
