Honey, look what followed me home today

Fell in love with an '03 FZ1. Sold the Versys. I did enjoy that bike.

You should not have to change mapping.

Ace hardware has a decent assortment of metric inside and outside rings. Might check with the OEM as well

I'm not sure on the Mapping bit Floyd, but the seat & lowering the pegs is a must for you because it is a pain in the butt for a mere
6 footer!!!

I'm looking forward to you getting it set up & then giving us a back to back comparison between the FJR & the V concerning every day riding & 300+ml day riding as well!!!

PS, I love your Dark Side of the Moon album!!!

PinkFloyd - look for a PM.

BTW - I put SS brake lines onto my '08. LOVE 'em, 'specially the rear now!

Thanks Eddie. Replied to your PM. I'll hopefully have the BMW RT seat I got on Panjo.com arrive at my door in a week or so. I had been keeping an eye on that listing in anticipation of getting the V.

Do you have any recommendation on where to get the SS brake lines?

Thanks. I love that album too as well as The Wall and Wish You Were Here.

I'm not sure that I'll be able to really compare the two bikes since they're so very different. The V reminds me a bit of a smaller version of my '01 Triumph Tiger. One of the things that attracted me to the V is that I wanted something very unlike my FJR (which is my third- I really like them)

No, but they're Galfers, like Joe mentions. Suggest IF you go that route, get the set that have TWO lines for the front W/OUT the 'bridge-piece' connecting the two front calipers, over the fender.

First significant farkle went on the '08 today. The stock horn on this bike was one of the most pathetic of any that I've ever heard. It had to go.

Picked up a Wolo Bad Boy at Northern Tool for $30 (on sale plus I had a $5 off of $15 coupon). Fused and wired it through a 30A relay of course. Mounted it on the right where the extra unused hole resides.

I also went ahead and shimmed the front of the seat even though the 1150RT seat is on its way.
