bike shutting off

Hi,
Anyone ever have a problem with the bike shutting off while in motion? This happened to me in town, shut off while I was at a light. I pressed the starter button and it started right away. It has done this a couple of times.

OutandAbout,

Some possibilities:

1. Some water in the petrol
2. Is your idle set at 1300 rpm?
3. Crankshaft sensor fault as in service manual 3-40 Fuel system (DFI) pg.
116
4. Side stand switch fault
5. Does the FI fire up correctly when startup?
6. Any sound of the fuel pump priming in the petrol tank?
7. Does it die when you engage in your clutch before you move?
8. Check your battery connections are tight
9. No kinks in the fuel line?
10. Kill switch in correct position?

Hope it helps

Also, does your idle sound rough? V idles well at 1300 rpm.
What is your mileage? Cheers

unlikely a new V to have a problem like this. best get to the dealer and hook up for diagnostic test.
Engine cutting off is electronic/circuit problem.IMHO.

Happened to me a couple of times before my first service and switching to 87 octane. used 91 octane during brake-in....have not had the problem since.

...so maybe one of those did the trick???!?!? idk but figured id let you know your not alone.
