08 Ninja 650 to a V?????

Hi everyone. Looking for some input on the V. I have an 08 650R, and have been fairly content with it, though there are a few exceptions.

1. Seat is too low for me (6'1" 230). My legs get cramped after 90 minutes or so of riding.

2. Suspension, well, nothing to write home about.

3. Fairing buzz at certain low rpm's.....even with the "fix."

So, the majority of my riding takes place through the mountains and foothills of Maine, NH, and Vermont, usually 200-300 mile days. I'm happy with the parallel twin, especially the low to mid grunt, and I'm assuming that transfers to the Versys?? Also, how is the suspension? Are the adjustments adequate for normal riding with short bouts of aggressiveness in the mountain twisties?

Would anyone know if I would be able to transfer my Arrow exhaust/Pazzo levers/gear indicator over to the V?

Thanks

I bought an 09 Ninja 650 R I owned it for 1 day, took it back and told the dealer I made a mistake and could I please exchange it for the V, he said no problem, I returned it because the Suspension is terrible and has no adjustments. The V would be perfect for you IMHO

I can't give you A comparison in the ride difference as I haven't rode the 650R. but your arrow slip on won't be A problem, not sure about the levers though that might depend more on the year than the bike I bought some after market levers that would work on the 08 versys but the brake lever design is different on the 09. here are some pictures of the difference.

Any comments on the suspension? Is it ok out of the box, or are modifications needed.....just an average rider here, not overly aggressive.

Its adjustable and feel it should work out for you since you are over 6'.

You might want to get a footpeg lowering kit.

My wife had 2 of the Ninja 650's (I sort of wrecked the first one...) before she went to the V for a variety of reasons. I'd/We'd never go back. The V rules.
