The versys, a great bike.

I had a post out a few weeks ago titled "I want to be a verys owner but why?" well after a long paper work mess with my Harley it's gone and I have a 2010 versys. So far I have 150 miles and just did an oil change. I'm happy I went for the 2010. Anyways, this bike Is amazing. I have been riding for years and have had a large variety of bikes. This is the first bike I've owned that I'm totally happy with. It does it all with ease. If anyone is debating a versys, I say do it as soon as possible. I'm sorry I didn't buy one in 2008.

I just picked up a new 09 Mean Green Versys today. It's a fresh out of the crate special and nobody else has ever rode it. It was a great ride bringing the bike home and I can't wait until it's broken in.

MotoJoe, I couldn't agree more, I also come from the cruiser world and this is just a hell of a bike, I only have 250 miles on her (did my first oil change today) Oh, and BrittB, damn you have a nice looking bike...(I have the same one lol)

I am having so much fun with this bike, I am even taking a "the long way home" just to ride it a little more when I am off work.

I just love this bike, can't wait to break it in.

F.
Ps, I am debating big time on the GIVI's E21 or the E36.....HELP!!!! lol.

I took mine out for a night ride last night and I have to say that the high beam head really puts out a ton of light. I have a 94 Honda VT1100c Shadow that I've owned for 7 years and I think it's time to let it go. This Versys is the perfect do all street bike and a blast to ride. It's hard holding down the speed and RPM for break in though.

The green just runs in my favorite choice of bikes.

I have broken in every new bike I've owned using the Motoman method.

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

My friend Dave broke in his ZX14 using the soft and gentle aproach he gets a consistent 35mpg when we ride together. I get a consistent 42mpg running at the exact same pace in the same gear.

I will not even consider buying a used bike if I find out the owner used the factory break in recomendation because more often than not the piston rings do not get correctly seated (so you get blow by) meaning less compression and worse fuel mileage.

I must admit that Green versys looks killer in sun light.

I still have not bought one yet. I want the Black 2010. And my dealer doesn't have one yet.

He does have the black and silver Z1000. Which I like but the 4.1 gallon fuel tank would mean around 160 miles before empty. Some of the areas I ride are over 200 miles between stations.

Get the versys. You'll love it. Just so you guys know I've been riding the bike hard and using the motoman break in technique. A lot of pulls and engine breaking. I think this is a solid way to break in the bike. I can't see crusing at 4000 rpm for 1000 miles helping. The most I've took it up to is 7500 rpm and let off. Bike feels smooth.

After a few thousand miles of riding hard, lots of compression Up and engine breaking Down,... then it's time to stop engine breaking.

Engine breaking at high rpm's to often will cause your cam chain to wear out prematurely.

Motojoe I do want the 2010 versys. Problem right now,... no dealers have them,... only left over 09's.

I'm convinced after reading several posts that it would be a great replacement for the ZX14.

I've had my 2008 for just under two years but swear I'm still in the honeymoon phase with her. I rode up to the mountains on Saturday and can't even guess how many times I said "I love this bike!" as I cracked the throttle and turned and burned. You made a wise choice as you well know.

Ride To Live, Live To Ride....no, really!
