made another seat
still wanted a lower seat for the track, so i started from scratch this time.
made a seat-pan from 1/2'' plywood, then added some mini cell foam.
this foam is great, it's so easy to shape and to glue on new pieces.
the front portion , measured a few inches make from the tank is just a tad lower then stock, but i got the rear portion lower by 1 3/4''. i could get it even lower if i want, but my legs get to cramped and then it hurst my back.
can't believe the difference in handleing with the lower seat, the bike is so much more agile and turns right where you want it.
i added a one inch gel pad to this seat and tried it out on a track, and it felt like i was sitting a foot taller, and the handling was terrible.
another finding i found out with this seat is, even though this foam is not as soft as a stock seat, just that it is flat, and your not sliding forward, is still more comfy then a stock seat.
for a everyday seat;
i know i could make another one from the wood, make it a little wider, keep it flat, and add some softer foam to it then this mini cell foam, it would be tons better then a stock seat, and the bike handles a lot better too.
but for me, and track, the stiffer foam is best.
just sharing some of my findings, i know it's not for everyone.....
