Sans Stickers a.k.a De-Badging

Using some Goo-Gone, I took off the Kawasaki and Versys tank stickers and the Kawasaki windshield sticker.

I pretty much de-badge.. or in this case de-sticker all my cars and just carried over the habit to the V. Luckily the tank stickers were applied over the clear-coat finish and not under.

What do you think? Stickers or Sans Stickers?

Added bonus.. people have no idea what bike you have. So... you can call it any make you want. Or even make up one. My current fav... "Its a Dusaki."

Like it way better. The average guess at what kind of bike at bike night is, "is that a Ducati?" Love the mystery.

I thought about removing the decals, but I think it looks like it's missing something without them, so I just left it alone.

Thats the brand I used with no problem. Its citrus based, it did not hurt the finish on the tank. You can get a smaller bottle for $3-ish at Home Depot.

A curious reason to do this. Why not simply buy a Ducati?

Perhaps because the Ducati decals are too hard to take off

It wasn't the reason I did it, just the outcome. BTW...have you looked at the price of a 2010 Multistrada? Too rich for my blood.

V-Zee... the "Ducati" thing is an unintended consequence, and an amusing one at that, of taking off the tank sticker. Granted ... beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, and to this beholder the V looks much better without the tank stickers. I agree with the other post that the stickers look cheesy and when you see that they are put on-top of the paint clearcoat instead of under as what should have been in the first place, its a no brainer for some of us.

If you dont want to .... thats ok. But understand people are trying to make, in their judgment, their bike look better to them. Thats all.

How about removing the decals on just one side, then you have the benefit of both styles!
