Even better with a tire change.

This is awesome and bad news at the same time. Terrific news Versys is getting noticed. However, the chance to get a deal goes out the window at the dealership.

King V is correct, at least in my neck of the woods.
Wanted the 2015 with the upgrades but full price was the price.

Found a 2014 with 0 miles at a dealer 50 miles south...mis-printed an ad reading $4999. I showed up with cash and we loaded the bike onto my trailer...

Maybe in a couple of years I'll find a slighly used 15'+ and see what I can do...for now; wow, what a bike.

That's pretty cool. I don't think I ever owned a "Motorcycle of the Year" before.

Garage
I really wanted the '15 LT but I bought the last '14 the dealer had instead. They had it listed as $4999 and once we started the paperwork the salesperson gave me a $1500 rebate! OTD cost was $5952. Couldn't of been happier and I'm now the proud member of the green team

Well it wasn't Rider, but I owned two Motorcyclist MOTYs at the same time. The Versys 650 and a Super Duke. They were both purchased brand new having sat on dealer floors for over a year at deeply discounted prices.

Look at me!

Bought BIG RED (delivered Sept '08) because of its MOTY award. And NOW I'm on Versys #3...!

You might have. There's about 20 of them from all the different print and online mags. And none seem to pick the same bikes. Although I will say that Rider mostly closely aligns with my preference of sport touring, so I'd be apt to take their word over some others.

Motorcyclist picked the 1200RT with its new engine as Touring bike of the year as I recall. If you take money out of the equation, that is a better bike for its intended purpose. For the money, the V1K is a star.
