Got my 2010 V Today

I drove to Bremerton with the family for a fun day of cycle shopping. Turns out I got a real good deal at one of the dealerships, at least I thought so. It was $7608 out the door. The only bad part of the experience was the drive back to Port Angeles. It was about a 2 hour drive but with pretty good gusts and drizzle and rain. I parked it in the garage and then gave it a good shine.

My first impressions, wow. I had been doing a lot of off road on my 250KLX. Going to the Versys on the road was like going from an old Chevy Nova to a Ferrari. It's wierd not having to use the choke to get the bike to start. And VERY smooth. It's early yet but on that 2 hour ride, even in the rain and 50 degree temps, I was smiling like a giddy school boy.

I can't wait to get it set up with Farkles now

$7608 OTD: Ahhhh sweet music. Bike and Car manufacturers show special affection towards Canadians. Comapre that with $11000 and some OTD on this side of the border. No wonder, I am still without a V ...

I have had mine for less than a week and am liking it more each day. One recommendation, go ahead and do your first oil change. I had 51 miles on mine when I got home from the dealer and wasted no time changing the oil. I found all kinds of silvery bits in the oil I drained. I plan to change mine again at 200 miles and again at 600 just to get all the machining bits cleaned out good.

Yeah, Cruiser. That's what I did with my 250 as well. I had 3 oil changes in the first 800 miles. You can't be too careful. Unfortunately, the weather here in WA is rainy and in the 50s this weekend. Buggers.

Datawiz, actually I was not going to get a bike this week. I was just "looking"...hehe. However, after reading these forums, I got a good feel for what a solid price was so when I got an offer like that, I jumped at it. I had to drive 2 hours to get to the place, but it's all good. It just means you get a nice 2 hour drive home

Congrats on the new '10!

I rode my brand new '10 home on April 21st and now have just over 1300 miles on it. It gets better with every ride. About those farkles . . . because of the major changes made to the '10, there are not many windshield choices yet but CalSci is working on one. I just checked the website and they now have pictures of a new one so maybe they have one to sell now. I'll call them in the morning and report back here ASAP.

I also dropped the rear sprocket from 46 to 44 teeth and it makes the bike feel better on the highway and the speedometer is EXACTLY the same as my TomTom GPS.

My New V

Here is an image of the new toy. The weather has been lousy so my riding has been limited so far. On a good note, I put my 2009 KLX250 up on Craig's list. A guy paid cash for it an hour and a half later for what I was asking.

Cruiseman, the weather there looks beautiful, especially compared to what it has been like up here for the past few weeks. Great pics!!
