Washington D.C.

Any one know of a safe place to park a scoot on Sunday that would be close to the Metrorail to the Wall? I think the Smithsonian is the closest stop. Possibly Saturday night as well.

I would prefer west and south such as Springfield / Burke.

Thanks,

Ride em if ya got em!

I don't go into the city much myself, live about 20 miles outside. However I will inquire for you tomorrow with a few friends who live in the district. I'll try to get a post up sometime during the workday tomorrow.

Nobody seems to know of any safe or free parking along the metro. Your best bet is probably just to use the overnight parking at one of the metro stations. Falls Church, Springfield, even Vienna would be fine. The D.C. metro area is gonna be packed this weekend, I'm getting out of town on Thursday night. Wish I could be more help, if I come up with anything I'll let you know.

West Falls Church metro has free parking if you go in the Kiss N Ride entrance - there are spaces for scooters and bikes on your way back out of the loop on left hand side. If you go into the garage you will need a special pass to get out - and it costs 4.50 per day (and the pass is not available for purchase at the site!) . From West Falls Church it is about a 20 minute metrorail ride into DC. It should be safe, but I would use a wheel lock on it just in case. (Falls Church is a "good" area).

Also - if you want an enjoyable ride - take the GW parkway off of 495 through Old Town Alexandria and to Mount Vernon - beautiful road, lots of pic opportunities. Along the ride their is Roosevelt Island which is a must stop. The only access is coming back North. If you take the trip watch your speed - cops love the Holiday crowds.

Finally - there is a dealership in Falls Chuch as well...www.wherethepoweris.com in case of mechanical issues.
