What do you do with your helmet...

...when you are at a store or restaurant or whatever? Leave it on the bike? Use the helmet loop under the seat (/barf)? Bring it in with you?

I have one of the cheap bicycle cable lock and just lock the helmet to the handlebar...

I think leaving the helmet on the bike is pretty safe (depends on the neighborhood), but lock it just in case....

I always carry mine in. Most places will hold your helmet behind the counter for you if you're going to browse a while. You can also ask your waiter to store it if there isn't a convenient place to put it at the table.

I lock it to the bike when I go to events or stadiums. Since you most likely have to pay for parking then I think it's pretty safe to lock it to the bike.

D ring hook under the seat. No one's going to steal it. It would be useless to them if they did as they'd have to cut the strap to take it.

I was told by the dealer not to leave my Arai helmet like that.

D-ring straps are cheap to buy & easy to replace.

+1 for Give topcase

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

I carry mine normally but now I have the topcase will probably go in there. I used to lock it to the bike, but since all the metalwork is painted, Iīm scared of scratching it all off by uning a lock.

Itīs going well Kiwi, went to Corodoba on the weekend ,250kms each way, stayed overnight, gorgeous city!

My horn is a bit dodgy tho, itīs like itīs not connected properly as the sound seems to go up and down when I use it, like thereīs a bad connection or something...really need to get something better like an airhorn but itīs all a question of money and after just buying all the cases and frames Iīll have to wait a bit. Also want to get a new windshield but without a definitive answer of which is best ,thatīs a difficult one.

I use the under the seat loop most of the time for extended time away from the bike. However I'll carry it if I'm just popping into a store or restaurant for a bit.

When you are a hundred miles away from home on a trip and someone steals your helmet, where do you get a replacement? Most states have helmet laws so basically you are out of a ride. And yes, in the case of an expensive helmet such as an Arai, the strap can be replaced so it could be worth stealing a $400 to $500 helmet for some low life. That's probably how some nice used helmets get to Ebay. It could be someone's small business. That being said, If I'm sitting outside at a restaurant and I'm in plain view of the bike, I might leave it on the bike but if I'm going to be out of view of the bike, I take it with me. If the establishment doesn't have a place to store it, it usually fits nicely under my chair or table.

This is a problem I have not had to deal with yet. On my Goldwing, I always lock it in the trunk. When (if) I get a Versys, I will probably take it in with me to a restaurant. Not sure what I will do in a store.
