versys or transalp?

Hi All! Thinking about buying a versys. My only concern is which is the better and most comfortable bike to drive over potholes and uneven roads, whether the versys or honda transalp. Anyone had experience with both? Thanks

ed, you haven't entered your location info. where art thou? are we talking about a new Transalp or a US Transalp?

not sure why you would drive thru a pothole and i'm not sure what you mean by uneven roads... but a versys clearly has alloy wheels, with a smaller diameter up front. this makes second best to either transalp for rough going, especially compared to the older TAs with the 21" hoop. the difference is less significant for newer TAs with their additional weight and 19" front rim. if you're looking at that bike, you probably should be looking at the wee strom, as well.

none are dirtbikes, but the older TAs are pretty good for their size. the issues there would be parts and power, depending upon how far back you're going....

In a world full of people, only some want to ride. Isn't that crazy?

actually in my country i do have to tackle potholes more than i would have liked. i'm from malta by the way, small island just below sicily. i guess you're right, the transalp is a bit more top heavy and being on the short side it would make a difference.
