Broke 100 Today..

MPH that is!! I know.. I shouldn't be riding that fast but it was a wide open straight stretch of road with new pavement and I just couldn't resist! So much for keeping it under 4k RPM for the first 600 miles.

The Versys is just so much fun compared to my KLR for the street I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Other than looking at my shoulders through the vibrating mirrors and the cowling buzz that is louder than the engine at many RPM's the bike is a blast to ride

What kiwi said.....I've been to107 and it was quite frankly...anti-climatic in an amazing sorta way.
I have a favorite 2to 2.5 mile stretch of farm land. No intersections, no drives, see forever.
Like butter it was; and the sound of the engine screaming was sweet sweet music.
Hugging the tank at over 100mph.....priceless.

I also had over 1000 miles on the clock.

I'm sure your bike is fine.
But, patience young grasshopper.

Bit guilty myself of screwing bike right out after picking her up, had 4000km on clock so put head down and got speedo to 190km/hr, just recently went with a ride with a cop mate of mine, he got no bike at moment so lent him the V and i rode my wife C50T, for final run home as there were some good straights to come so swapped bikes and let him get a head start and flew past him at 180km, good thing he not a annual retentive.

When I had mine over 100 (110) that was when my mirror came loose , after swallowing my heart back into my chest and slowing down with the still almost, whoa smile on my face, I snugged it back up, came home, loc-tite, still tight.
These bikes can hit the mph quick if your not careful or even if you are......ain't it great

he was off duty, when he was a country cop he took me up in cop 4wd to go hunting on on the way there we would see how many speeding cars we could get,the highest speed we could lock in his detector, the trick to beat radar detector was to have the unit off and when you could see vehicle quickly turn on with remote. we never acutally stopped anyone as he was off duty

Lets hope there are no cops monitoring this site as you all may receive infringement notices in the mail NO JUST KIDDING! I too have got the Versys low flying on a stretch of back country highway and it topped out at 198km on the clock but as we have been told the speedo is not correct some say 8 or 9k over.

It was a 190km with a pack rack and empty pack on so i presume would got closer to 198 without it.

Yes... But once it hit 90+... From there onward... Kind of slow... Need more horse power...

Will be nice if there is a 1000cc versys...

originally looking at a 800cc GS so a 800cc twin would be pretty awsome in the V

Been there, but didn't stay long. Sure was fun though!! The roll on power with this motor is nothing to scoff at. I'm quite impressed with it in stock form. Be nice to see what the difference is when I get a pipe and PC on it.
