Finely saw the 1000 today

Nice bike and while larger the the 650 it seem to have a lower CG. I still managed to smack my knee on the passenger grab bar swinging a leg over it. The saddle seems to be a bit better design the the POS that ships on the 650 too! I even liked the Burnt Orange paint. In fact it was The Old Versys club at the store looking at the 1000, 4 of us including the owner of the dealership! We all liked the quick adjustment of the windshield and all of us whining about "We want a center stand too!! Why can we have one Kawasaki?" It was amazingly easy to roll up on the center stand even on the carpet. This was an LT and of course no bags available yet, got be the Dock Workers strike in CA...don't they know there are Riders out NEEDING Motorcycles and parts!?!

I still want to see a 2015 650 but I doubt I'll be buying anytime soon as my 2012 runs just fine thank you and the 1000 has 2 too many cylinders for my simple taste! But if you are riding 2 up I can see where it would be the Bees Knees. Even sitting next to both a Ninja 1000 with bags and a 2014 Connie the Versys 1000 seem to offer a lot bang for the buck.

Or was that look THEN leap?

It works well too. I'm not generally a fan of them. They are either getting in my foot's way when I move it around or they are scraping the ground in corners trying to lever the tire off the ground. This one doesn't seem to have either of these issues and watching the local dealer put it up, it appeared they had the leverage issue down as it was a breeze to get up.

Is that the hold up? Someone needs to introduce Kawi to drug dealers. There's more than one entry point to bring product into the country.

I got a chance to look and and sit on the new V1K yesterday. I like it! I'm 6-1 with a 34 inch inseam and it fits great. I'm not a real fan of either color but I can live with the orange.

Kawasaki has a military discount going on that includes retirees so I may have to get serious.
