Where to park?

Hi guys, let's say i want to ride the Blue Ridge and the surroundings again next spring. I live in Quebec, Canada and do not want to ride my bike all the way and put it in a trailer instead. Where can i park the car/trailer safely somewhere in Virginia for about a week?

Thanks!

I don't about VA specifically. But there are a lot of "storage lots" around where people store boats, rv's, camper's, trailers when they can't keep them at home. Try googleing storage lots in the city in VA your looking to unload in.

My buddy contacted a local Kawasaki dealer where he was going and they let him park his truck in their back lot for free.

You could ask if a member of the forum lives in the vicinity and offer to provide liquid refreshment for a parking spot.

You could park it in a sell your own lot with your cell phone number on it. Just have the price high enough that if it sells you will be happy to ride the bike home.

That's a reliable suggestion. He does not want anything happening that far away from home (or even near) by trying to save a few Canadian dollars!

Although I'm sure VA is fun too, I'd park smack dab in Ashville, NC and make the rounds to TN, GA, SC, NC, and TN again (from a GA, TN, SC, and NC native.) I spent many 600 mile weekends just sports touring the mountains and avoiding rain clouds at mountain tops, mostly on a BMW R90/6 with Lester mags that I got my first 100K miles in about 3 years (that's a valve adjustment about every other week!) I never want to do another valve adjustment again, ha ha.

Since you're probably going to stay in a hotel in the area, see if they will allow you to leave your rig there for a few days. You're going to need to spend the night when you get back from the ride anyway.

Asheville, NC would be a good call, plenty of good riding around there with motorcycle campgrounds that you might enjoy in every direction. likewise Roanoke, VA would be a good starting point, you can strike out from there into WBGV and southward. the Parkway is nice, but not nearly the best road in Dixie. there is much awesomeness crossing the parkway and nearby. i'm sure there are public storage locations anywhere you might care to stop.

In a world full of people, only some want to ride. Isn't that crazy?
