So long, fair friend

Well, I finally did it. I got tired of chasing the electrical issues and traded the Versys for an NC700X. So long, good friend.

BTW, the frames for the luggage went with the bike, but I still have the top case an panniers. I plan on practically giving those away in the for sale section, if anyone is interested.

Congrats. Hope it behaves better for you. When I test rode one I felt it didn't have the fun factor the Versy has, but was a refined comfortable commuter. Doesn't rev high and has mediocre suspension, but my neighbor gets over 70 mpg on his 100 mile a day commute.

Are you not planning on using the cases with the Honda? My neighbor has the V35s and 46 or 47 top case on his NC700X. Definitely more cargo capacity than the Honda bags.

Thank you, turn8a. I think I will enjoy, especially since it runs.

Hi twowheeladdict. Yeah, it doesn't quite have the fun factor, but my riding style has changed more to commuter with a bit of weekend 'canyon' carving (around here, read that as back roads). Plus, I'm counting on the Honda reliability.

I don't need the large storage anymore, and I like the way the Honda bags look better. Plus, the Givis I have, have the Versys badging.

Thanks for your input.

My brother just traded his 2012 Versys in last night for a 2015 FJ 09. His ran fine, it is was the lack of power that prompted him to change. So far he likes it but he just rode it from the dealership home.

They did finally get the new 2015 Versys in, looks good, many small cosmetic changes, I parked my 2014 right next to it and quickly saw the many little changes. Looks good though.
